Year-round conversion is more than adding insulation or leaving the heat on. Start with a feasibility inspection

Obtain a professional whole-project review when the property has a marginal septic system, low-yield water source, steep or flood-prone site, long utility run, or a history of winter damage.
Conversion versus replacement
Compare the conversion scope with major reconstruction or replacement when several primary systems are undersized, inaccessible, or unapproved. A low initial retrofit estimate can grow when the project must open walls, relocate systems, rebuild access, or correct the cause of moisture and freeze damage.
Keep the decision in its own U.S. or Canadian market. Do not convert a quote by exchange rate, and do not treat insurance guidance from one jurisdiction as a universal occupancy rule. The useful result is a feasibility-based scope with explicit approvals, exclusions, and phasing.
