Artificial Turf Installation Cost
Artificial turf is a professionally installed surface system, not just a roll of material. A complete quote may include removal, base excavation and preparation, drainage, edging, turf, seams and cuts, infill where the product uses it, labor, access, irrigation modification, cleanup, and future replacement or disposal.
What changes the installed cost
- existing lawn, soil, roots, debris, and disposal;
- base thickness and preparation requirements;
- drainage and water movement at the site;
- product specification, area, curves, obstacles, seams, and edging;
- gates, slopes, access, delivery, and labor;
- removal or capping of irrigation and later maintenance;
- repair, warranty, and end-of-life assumptions.
Angi’s 2026 specialist material confirms artificial turf as a distinct U.S. installation category, but the active evidence does not establish a reliable comparable range or a Canadian equivalent. Keep product, base, drainage, labor, disposal, and restoration separate. Do not convert a U.S. market signal into CAD.
Compare the lifecycle decision
Artificial turf may reduce routine watering, but “no maintenance” is not a safe universal claim. Cleaning, surface care, weeds, infill, drainage, heat management, repairs, and eventual replacement can still matter. Ask the installer for product documentation and warranty limits rather than assuming one lifespan or performance result.

Major drainage, regrading, retaining, or hardscape is separate work. Confirm whether the surface is suitable for the intended activity, where stormwater goes, what happens at edges, and how damaged or removed material will be handled. Local restrictions may apply; check the responsible authority before committing to a product or design.
