Replacing a bottom seal or perimeter weatherstrip can reduce drafts, debris, pests, and minor rain entry when the door and floor are aligned. It cannot correct every water problem at the garage threshold.
A floor drain or trench drain can collect water at a garage threshold or low point, but the drain is only one part of a system. Slope, discharge, freeze protection, maintenance, and slab restoration determine whether it solves the problem.
Water in a garage is a symptom, not a repair specification. It may enter at the door, cross a low driveway, pond at the slab, move through a wall, or reflect a broader grading and drainage problem.
